The position:
A Tax Assistant is responsible for working on client tax activities including tax planning, tax compliance and preparation of corporate and personal tax returns.
You will be working as part of the tax team carrying out tasks with the support of a Tax Manager.

Technical skills & responsibilities:
- Basic personal tax and corporate tax computation preparation and experience
- Awareness of filing deadlines
- Minimal personal and corporate tax planning experience
- Good knowledge of computers
- Limited analytical and judgmental skills but must be able to identify situations to bring to the
senior’s attention - Clearly presented workpapers
- Able to resolve simple queries with clients
- Good oral communication skills required
- Develops an understanding of the business and the Assistant role
- Develops technical skills both on the job and through formal learning channels
- Works as an effective team member to complete project components and assignment tasks
- Participates in office culture including fun, social events etc.
- Tax filing/file set-up
- Downloading and importing data for Tax Returns
- Telephone calls to HM Revenue & Customs
- Greet clients
- Photocopying/collating tax material
- Tax errands
Practical experience & Skills:
- Nil to 3 years in the profession
- Ability to apply to self-learning and develop technical knowledge
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Team player with a positive – ‘can do’ approach
- A general and growing knowledge of firm services in the practice area, and a general knowledge of services in other practice areas
Qualifications:
- ‘A’ Level or equivalent college experience
- Degree
- Studying for ATT
