As simple and straightforward as possible
Our recruitment process
We hope you can see that we have a genuine passion to help you to be the best that you can be. It doesn’t matter where you are in your career or what you want to achieve we want to hear from you.
Everyone at Mark Holt & Co Group has blue sky opportunity if they want it and the support to achieve it. This does not begin when you join the team, it starts now by offering you guidance on our recruitment process.
Why? Because we realise it is not about one skill or one strength that makes you perfect for a role or for us. Everyone is different, appreciate and value different things so it is important to us to help you through the process.
Step One - Applying for a role
Once your CV and Covering letter has arrived, you will receive a confirmation email from Jayne or Kayleigh to give you peace of mind that we have received it and it has not been lost in the world wide web! Your application will be passed to our Managing Director, Practice Director and the relevant team Director or Manager. They will review your application and determine if you are a match for the available role.
Jayne or Kayleigh will be your point of contact through your application process with us so if you have any questions they will be on hand to help.
Step Two - Reviewing your application
Once your application has been reviewed your main point of contact will get in touch. This will be the stage where we will inform you if we would like to progress your application to the next stage. If your application was not successful we will ask you for your permission to keep your details on file to allow us to get in touch with you when we have other roles available that might be of interest to you. Just because this one may not be the one for you, it does not mean you are not a fit for us, instead by allowing us to keep your details you will be amongst the first to find out about a new vacancy.
Step Three - Interview
If your application was successful, you will be invited to an interview which will last roughly one hour and you’ll have the chance to discuss the available role and learn more about Mark Holt & Co. During this interview we will be assessing if you are the best fit for the role available.
We understand that interviews can be scary but we want to reassure you that it is not just about us getting to know you. It is also your opportunity to get to know us. We don’t follow any particular interview structure instead it is a relaxed conversation between us. Have a think about what you would like to know, here are some ideas to get you thinking:
- Are we right for you?
- Will we help you reach your career goals?
- Will you get rewarded for the contribution you will make?
- Is it a great team?
- Is the working environment a nice place to be?
- What type of work will you do?

Step Four - Second interview
Once your interview is complete, you will be assessed on whether your are a fit for the role. If you are successful, your main point of contact will get in touch to invite you to a second interview. The focus of the second interview is to review you as an individual to see if our firm culture matches you.
Our culture and DNA is very important to us as it reinforces everything we do here at Mark Holt & Co Group and drives us to make an IMPACT to you. We truly believe that ‘We are one team who work hard encouraging and supporting each other whilst having fun. We truly believe that Together Everyone Achieves More.’
Step Five - Feedback
Once you have finished with your interviews, meeting many members of the team, we will determine if we can offer you the role.
Regardless of the outcome, we are very happy to offer you feedback. We feel that it is important for us to explain our position as well as for you to help you progress in your career.
As highlighted in step two If your application was not successful we will ask you for your permission to keep your details on file to allow us to get in touch with you when we have other roles available that might be of interest to you. Just because this one may not be the one for you, it does not mean you are not a fit for us, instead by allowing us to keep your details you will be amongst the first to find out about a new vacancy.
