A Budget With Bite!
For many years we have reported on successive Chancellor’s budgets with a “not much to get excited about here” message. Kwasi Kwarteng has been in the job for less than a month and has delivered a quite radical budget by normal standards.
There will be some concerns about the merits of increased government debt to fund tax cuts and provide financial support packages on energy for example, or the fairness of who benefits from the cuts more than others (Most don’t get banker’s bonuses!!), but again, we are not providing opinions on social impact or economic morality. What the budget may well do is to push the pain of the current economic challenge into the future, and to help stimulate economic growth, which is what the Prime Minister and Chancellor are betting on.
